Why become an Architect in India?

  1. Architecture is a professional course. Like Doctors, CA’s, and lawyers, wherein one needs to be certified by the government in order to qualify and practice in that profession. Like other professional courses, most people start their own practice or firm after they gain sufficient industrial reputation, relations and experience. One need not worry about getting a job, but one rather treats oneself as equipping themselves for their future career as an entrepreneur.
  1. Architecture is by far the most diverse and dynamic of all professions. It has always been regarded as the mother of all art, and rightly so. There are many different career options that one can choose after their graduation. Building Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architect, Urban Planner, Conservation Architect, Political Architect, Artist, Research Architect, Extreme Architect,Professor, Philanthropy Architect, Politician & State Affairs, Conservationist, Writer and Consultant. As a program it is very dynamic and creative.
  1. Architecture is about impacting lives and leaving a behind a legacy. The greatest monuments in the world are the only things that have withstood time. They stand as the only legacy humans leave behind. There is a great responsibility that comes with being an architect, the power to create an art and influence people for generations to come.
  1. India has one of the lowest ratio of architects to its population in the world. In Italy, there is one architect for roughly every 414 people. In Indiaits astoundingly low at one architect for roughly every 17,000 people. This low availability of Architects is also the reason for the great demand for skilled architects and will remain so for a very long period in India.
  1. India being a growing economy with trillions of dollars being spent on infrastructure every year by public and private sector, undoubtedly architects play a very pivotal role for the future of India. The planning and visioning of these massive infrastructure projects are the brainchild of Architects who  are going change the entire landscape of India.
